CXR Foundation Announces 2022 Scholarship Winner

The CXR Foundation is pleased to announce the recipient of this year’s $10,000 scholarship, Christine Brown. “We are thrilled to award this scholarship to Christine to support her graduate studies and help her further her career in the HR/Talent industry,” says Chris Hoyt, CXR Foundation President.

After receiving over 500 applications for this year’s scholarship, the CXR Foundation Scholarship Committee used a quantitative scoring metric that showed preference for financial need and diverse backgrounds among other criteria. The Committee interviewed the top six candidates and presented two finalists to the Board. As Steven Rothberg, CXR Foundation Scholarship Committee Member and Founder of College Recruiter, notes “In our interview, this year’s winning candidate was real, candid, humble, confident, driven, focused, passionate, and wicked smart. This is a person who takes pride in making herself better but, more importantly, also makes everyone around her better. She is going to make this world a better place.”

Christine will be attending Southern New Hampshire University in pursuit of an MBA in Human Resources. “I feel truly honored to receive the 2022 CXR Foundation Scholarship. Human resources are the foundation blocks of every business. Receiving this scholarship will help me gain the knowledge and tools needed to serve my community in new HR roles.”

In August 2021, the CXR Foundation established a $10,000 scholarship fund intended to support the post-secondary education of the children of talent professionals or talent professionals who are pursuing advanced degrees. “The CXR Foundation wants to support our community of talent acquisition and talent management professionals in a variety of meaningful ways.” states Hoyt. “We hope this scholarship can inspire many future talent leaders in the years to come.”

The next submission process opens in December 2022 with the scholarship being awarded in May 2023. The primary requirement will be that the recipient is the child of someone who works in the professions of talent acquisition or talent management OR a talent professional pursuing an advanced degree. Graduating high school seniors and current college/university students are invited to apply.
